Maoists terrorise Ramechhap residents

Residents of Ramechhap district are once again being terrorised by the Maoists as they force school students to join their militia, according to concerned sources.
Maoists have been intensifying their ‘enlistment programme’ in Sanghutar and Himaganga VDCs for the past week. Dadhi Ram Subedi, 15, a grade-eight student of Himaganga Secondary School, who were Chandra Prasad Subedi, 16, of the same school and abducted by the Maoists had managed to escape, according to the students.
The students fled to Kathmandu, after they were able to escape from the Maoists, who were busy collecting ‘donations’. According to locals the Maoists took into their control three more youth, including a woman from Himganga VDC in place of the two that escaped.
Maoists are said to be launching a three-day ‘youth recruitment programme’ inside a primary school premises and have asked 10 youth from a ward of the VDC to participate in their programme, according to locals.
